Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

Enjoy a scenic ferry ride out past the Statue of Liberty National Monument, a gift of friendship from France to the United States in 1886. This universal symbol of freedom and democracy stands tall and proud on Liberty Island, welcoming visitors and immigrants to U.S. soil. Open from 1892-1954, Ellis Island became the nation’s premier federal immigration station, processing over 12 million immigrant steamship passengers. Tour the main building which became a museum in 1990. Today, almost half of America’s population can trace their ancestry through Ellis Island.

Take in the best views in all of New York at the Top of the Rockefeller Observation Deck.
