Palais Coburg Vienna, Austria

Duke Ferdinand Georg August of Saxe- Coburg-Gotha (1785-1851) had built the Palais Coburg between 1840 and 1845 on the Braunbastei, the “Brown Bastion”, in Vienna’s city centre. The Palais Coburg has a mighty fortifying wall from the Renaissance as its foundation, and this represents one of its −outstanding qualities: while the magnificent façade is a distinctive feature of the cityscape above ground, below the earth fascinating passageways lead into the depths of the city’s history. Beneath the Palais are six centuries of precious architectural fabric: the case−mates of the former bastion, a labyrinth of cellars and halls, and remains of the city walls, all of which have been very carefully opened up and preserved.
In keeping with the authenticity of the house, the suites are all named after prominent members of the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family. In addition to its extraordinary atmosphere, the Palais Coburg Hotel Residenz offers every amenity that a guest would expect from a luxury-class hotel. The facilities of the Coburg’s suites include: • Separate living and sleeping areas • Fully equipped kitchen with mini bar • Luxurious bath • Separate guest WC • Tablet PC with standard office software • High-speed Internet access and Wireless LAN • TVs in living and sleeping areas • DVD/CD player and video channels
Palais Coburg Spa Relaxation at the highest level High above the roofs of Vienna and featuring views of the biggest park in the city center, an oasis of cultivated relaxation awaits the guests at the Palais Coburg. Massage and beauty treatments are available here, as are a pool, steam bath, sauna, sun −terrace and all the facilities for fitness and regeneration that a discriminating guest could expect from a luxury-class hotel. But the most precious thing the Palais Coburg Spa −offers its guest is an unlimited supply of utter tranquility in an ambiance perfectly balanced both in form and in color. A place where people meet The culture of pleasure in a delightful ambiance
The Palais Coburg offers manifold opportunities for memorable culinary experiences – from the grand gourmet dinner in the restaurant to a relaxed wine tasting accompanied by fine food in a stylishly restored setting. The Wine Bistro, with its Bastion Garden, is the green oasis of the Palais Coburg. The Pavilion was built in faithful detail according to the historic model for the former Palm House, and today it serves as an atmospheric “balcony room” for epicures. In the Bastion Garden, magnolias and plane trees provide scent and shade, while small rose trees, lavender and boxwood's adorn the top of the former fortifications and create the ambiance of a grand palace park. The Wine Bar is ideal as an after-work meeting place, for casual business meetings and for taking a relaxing break from sightseeing or shopping to enjoy a fine meal. The entire cellar of the Palais Coburg is open to guests, and a large number of the exquisite wines are available by the glass. Glittering ambiance Where princes celebrated and festivities become memorable events
From confidential fireside chats and gala dinners to concerts and assemblies for several hundred guests – the Palais Coburg has the suitable locations and spaces for putting on all kinds of stylish and memorable events. The authentically restored ceremonial rooms are among the most magnificent event venues in the −entire country and allow a truly princely reception for prominent guests.
