DAY 1
Monday, September 30th, 2024
Morning arrival at Catania airport where you will be met by your local tour manager and private driver. Transfer to your hotel in Taormina where the balance of the day is at leisure. This evening,enjoy a welcome reception at the hotel followed by dinner in a local restaurant within walking distance of your hotel.

DAY 2
Tuesday, October 1st, 2024
MT. ETNA & TAORMINA: This morning we meet one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mt. Etna is in an almost constant state of eruption. Don’t worry; we’ll keep a safe distance! The fertile volcanic soils support extensive agriculture, orchards, and vineyards. Visit a local winery for a tour, a tasting, and a light lunch!
After lunch, make your way to Taormina. Many have proclaimed Taormina to be the most beautiful place on earth. Enjoy yourafternoon walking tour including the Greek and Roman outdoor theater; you’ll know why Taormina is known as the “Jewel of Italy.” Its winding streets and secluded gardens are truly enchanting. The snow-covered volcano, Mt. Etna, serves as a dramatic backdrop to the well-preserved Greek and Roman outdoor theater. After some free time, make your way back to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 3
Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024
SIRACUSA: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. Afterwards, depart for Siracusa, the city that overcame Athens in the Peloponnesian War and put an end to her imperial dream. Enjoy a g guided tour of the archaeological site which features a Greek theatre, Roman amphitheater and Latomia del Paradiso. Also visit the cave known as Dionysos’ ear - be sure to test out the acoustics. Continue to the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city center of Siracusa where you enjoy lunch with wine. Your afternoon is at leisure in Siracusa. This evening, enjoy a fun pizza and arancini cooking class with a local English-speaking chef in Siracusa. Afterwards, enjoy the dishes you have prepared.

DAY 4
Thursday, October 3rd, 2024
EXCURSION TO NOTO: After breakfast, depart on an excursion to Noto, one of the most beautiful cities in Sicily. Depart on a walking tour of this Baroque town so rich in heritage and beauty that it has earned UNESCO World Heritage listing. It is called the Capital of the Baroque for its architecture, completely rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake which destroyed the entire town. The city transformed the tragedy into rebirth and art and reconstructed the buildings in a Baroque style. Discover the stunning architecture of Noto, including its magnificent cathedral. Visit the famous Caffe Sicilia for a pastry tasting. Later, return to Siracusa for dinner and overnight.

Friday, October 4th, 2024
PIAZZA ARMERINA / AGRIGENTO: After breakfast, depart from Siracusa and start your journey towards Agrigento. Pause in Piazza Armerina to visit Villa Romana del Casale to view the richest, largest, and most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world. Afterwards, proceed to Agrigento for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6
Saturday, October 5th, 2024
VALLEY OF TEMPLES & WINE: Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. This morning, enjoy a guided visit to the Valley of Temples. Located on Sicily’s southern coast, Agrigento was founded in 581 BC by the Greek colonists from Gela who named the town Akragas. One of the great cities remaining from the Magna Graeca, Agrigento has seen many conquerors, from the Romans and Byzantines to the Arabs. What remains today are the magnificent ruins of the Greek
colony in the Valley of Temples, and the rocky hill where the medieval town was built. Afterwards, make your way to a
local winery in Agrigento where you enjoy a wine tasting accompanied by tasting of local products. You’ll see how some
of the most iconic local wines such Nero d’Avola are made. Afterwards, we will return to Agrigento for overnight.

Sunday, October 6th, 2024
AGRIGENTO / SANTA FLAVIA: After breakfast, depart from Agrigento and start your journey towards Santa Flavia. On arrival, check in to your hotel and shortly afterwards, depart for a fun Sicilian cooking experience. The passion for Sicily and its aromas, flavors and colors are some of the ingredients that your local chef will bring to your table.
Immerse yourself in the fragrant and colorful world of traditional Sicilian cuisine, learning all its secrets in a familiar and fun atmosphere. Later, return to your hotel where the remainder of your day is at leisure.

Monday, October 7th, 2024
MADONNA DEL LUME: After breakfast, transfer to Porticello for the Madonna del Lume Festival and Procession. Later, return to your hotel for overnight.

2024. The land Procession is normally on the first Monday of the festival, which would be October 7th, starting at 3:00pm
sharp. Please note that while the local hotels we contacted have advised us of these dates for the festival, we are waiting
on the official confirmation from the organizers of the festival.

After breakfast in your hotel, today you have a full day to explore the Santa Flavia and Porticello areas. You will have access to your tour director, driver, and coach for the full day. Overnight
